Tarlac State University received a plaque of commendation from the CHED Regional Office III on July 17, 2025 for ranking 256th in the World University Ranking for Innovation 2025.

Out of 1,200 higher education institutions worldwide that submitted entries, TSU is part of the global top 400 innovative universities and emerged as the sixth out of the 15 HEIs in Central Luzon with an overall ranking in WURI 2025.

The awarding ceremony, "Luminescence 26: Glowing with Excellence," held in Bacolor, Pampanga, recognized the 26 HEIs in the region in the different categories of innovation.

In a news briefer posted on Facebook, CHEDRO III Director Dr. Lora L. Yusi commended the 26 HEIs for "transcending into greater heights and their aspirations to be purposeful to the community."

Office of Quality Assurance Director Dr. Niño B. Corpuz and Assistant Director Dr. Ma. Socorro D. Valdez received the plaque on behalf of TSU, having led the university's WURI committee.

Furthermore, the specific entries that led the university in particular category rankings had been identified per the email received from the WURI Global Conference and WURI Ranking 2025 chairpersons.

The university ranked 19th globally in A6 or Ethics and Integrity with the help of the university-wide program "WESSA: Work Ethics and Safe Spaces Act" of the Career Education and Job Placement Services under the Office of Student Affairs and Services.

The lone entry of TSU in the B3 category or the ESG (environmental, social, and governance) Trend, "Project S.T.A.R.T." (Sustainable Training Assistance and Revitalized Teaching) of the Center for Community and Local Governance Studies and Policy Development, led the university to the 20th place.

Meanwhile, in A1 or Student Support and Engagement, TSU ranked 43rd through the Guidance and Counselling Unit's "Katatagan Plus: A Resilience-Building Mental Health Program for Youth," also under SAS.

According to CHEDRO III, these rankings show that Central Luzon HEIs are "champions of holistic development and purposeful innovations."

The offices, units, and colleges with winning entries and those that worked to submit entries to the WURI 2025 will be recognized in a university-led program this July 2025.
